It's winter and your hard at work in your home office when your day is interrupted by the sounds of heavy equipment. You look out the window and there is a bulldozer working away at clearing the block of land next door. What do you do? Bulldozers Don’t Lay Quiet In Winter, they work all year round. In fact winter is probably the best time to clear the land since spring will soon be here and spring is a great time to build a house.
There is not a lot you can do. What can be difficult is your work schedule. When You Work as a Home-Based Medical Transcriptionist you have deadlines that must be met. If you don't met them you start to gain a reputation for being unreliable. That will mean that work dries up and suddenly you are out of work. That's not good for you or your career.
You could find some decent earplugs or you could turn up the stereo. You could also find a temporary place to work until the bulldozing work is finished. However, if they are clearing the site to build a new home, chances are you are going to have several months of noise when they start building. Do you have any friends? If so, see if you can set up an office at their place temporarily.
The other alternative is to wind back your work and only take tasks that you can complete in the evenings when everything is quiet. It's not easy - but you will have to find a way around the noise factor - it wont be temporary.
